  • N-600 was it the right form in the first place?

Hello all here is my situation hope someone can help.

I am 39 years old I am currently a Permanent resident alien (have green card). My father has become a naturalized citizen over 10 years ago and I have been in the country since i was about 2 years old. My father and I were born in Iran originally. My mother has divorced my father since i was 8 years old. I am not sure where she is at.

So I finally want to become a citizen and I thought the right form was a n-600 is that right? Anyway I applied and got a response 6 months later saying they need additional proof. one his marriage certificate ( he was married long ago in Iran any record of this has since been lost as you can imagine) ALSO here is the troubling part they want and I quote "Proof that your father was physically present in the US for 5 years prior to my birth, of which 2 of the years must be after the of 14. So WTF? He came here same time I did when I was 2 years old as a refuge then we got our green cards.

There is not even a number to call on the form to call to ask. Thanks USCIS 6 months $400 dollars later and I get red tape. What part of I have been in the country since I was 2 do they not get? Is there an easier way?

Did I even fill out the right form? BTW my father got his naturlization in 1999 making me 23 years old at that time. Is the n-600 for kids currently under 18 I am confused. Anyone?
