I am a permanent resident since 5 years. . I a have filed for my citizenship N400 for myself in Dec 2016 and filed for my husband I130 in October 2016. My husband is a Canadian Citizen . Any idea how long does it take to sponsor spouse as an LPR and does it make a difference that spouse is a Canadian?

      Hi Ray B,

My husband and I got married in Turkey. My husband submitted I-130 for me via his lawyer in the USA in Dec 2017. It has been 5 months and still have not heard anythşng from USCIS. Do you know the average processing time for USCIS? My files were sent to Nebraska USCIS center. THANKS

Your husband should have receipt an email or text, followed by a hard copy receipt confirmation in the mail.

Average processing time till petition approval is about 6 months, followed by 3-5 months at the National Visa Center.

Yes, we got a NOA document which has a receipt number on it after submitting the form. We don't see any update except "case was received". If there is still no update in June(which makes 6 months), can we do something else to make it faster? Thanks

You can go onto the USCIS website to check status, using the receipt number.
