I have been a US Permanent Resident for the past 5 years and 3 months. I have never been away from the US for more than a month, and I actually have only been absent for a total of 75 days.
I am applying for my citizenship but there is a possibility I might get a job offer overseas, in South America. Can I accept the job offer while my papers are being accepted and then come for the interview and oath ceremony? or will working in another country hinder my possibilities of becoming a citizen even if I already completed the required 5 years?
I would really appreciate any help you can throw my way, I don't know where else to look for information on such a particular case. Thank you
