Hi all, I am applying the citizenship for my mom. She meets all the criteria for the application with the only potential hurdle that she did have 2 trips over the last 5 years that she stayed overseas for more than 6 months (but less than 1 year each time). I know that we can overcome that by giving a valid reasons as well as proving she continues to have ties to the US. We can explain the reasons why she stayed overseas for more than 6 months in those 2 trips, but my questions are related to what documents to provide to prove her continued ties to the US. The document checklist stated that Tax returns, mortgages, etc would work. However, she's over 62 years old and does not work in the US, and she stays with me whenever she's here. Would my tax returns and mortgage statements be enough to prove that we continue to live in the US during those times?
