I have had Green Card through marriage for little more than 2 years, i believe i am eligible for a US Citizenship. I do want to change my first name, any recommendations when should i do that? Would it better to change after getting citizen ship or before? Any tips highly appreciated. TIA

You can change your name (first and last) when you file your application for citizenship (N-400). There is a place that you can fill your new name.
At the interview the officer will confirm that with you, and fill out another form for you and you need to sign. It will then be approved by court and that will be your proof of name change.

It's better to change your name before applying for U.S. Citizenship. You must file Form I-90 for Green card replacement of legally changed your name or any other personal information.
