can spouse file citizenship separately?

Hi All,
My family is eligiable to file citizenship. however, my wife is going on vacation, so i want to check if it is fine to file citizenship sepeartly. The reason i want to expedite my filling so that i can start process to file green card for my mom, whoes visa got denied many times and unable to live with us.
