Hello,
I purchased a vacant-site in India when I was still an Indian citizen but now I'm a US citizen through naturalization.
I have applied for an OCI card but it is still pending.
I have two Questions:
1. Do I need to perform any task for the property (vacant-site) I purchased when I was still an Indian citizen?
I intend to move to India next year but I want to purchase an apartment now so I can move there
2. Do I need to wait till I get my OCI to purchase new property or can I purchase it now?
2a. Do I need to wait till I get my OCI card AND move to India and stay there for 182 days before I can purchase property?
I will transfer the required funds through NRE account and pay through check-- so it is visible to RBI etc.
Also, I don't intend to sell the property and move funds back to the US
