I made a very stupid mistake when I applied for green card. I came here on F-1 but didn't continue school. I was married to USC while in process of getting money and documents together for green card application I was arrested by ICE but agent released me when he found out that I was in process of adjusting status. I signed a few papers, and I was ordered to report to him monthly until my green card is approved. I was in and out of the detention within an hour.
When I was filling out I-485 and I-751, my lawyer marked I was never arrested but he send in paperwork from my ICE arrest. My green card was approved and condition were removed.
Now I am filling out N-400 and I marked it as arrested and send in the supporting documentation. Just saw old copies of I-485 and I-751 and noticed it was marked not arrested. I am freaking out now. (I decided to do the application myself because now it looked pretty simple and straightforward.)
Earlier today I spoke with someone from my previous lawyer's office. They told me immigration related arrests are not an issue. And since we send it relevant documentation, then they have everything they needed. I will get another appointment with a different lawyer but does anyone know if this is true?
Thank you!
