Lost passport before citizenship interview

I have my interview next week and I can't find my passport. Is this a big problem? The passport was expired. I haven't used it in a long time.

Should not be a problem. But I would make a police report and take it with you to the interview. I'm pretty sure they will ask you for your passport & showing them the police report will satisfy them. Good luck.

As the previous poster said, yes passport isn't required but make a police report. The IO checked my passport just to make sure the dates for trips I said were accurate.
