Hi,
I am wondering if I have a strong enough case for N-400 application and would appreciate a few pointers from experienced folks here.
I will complete 5 years as a GC holder in a few months. I will have lived in the US for more than 30 months in those 5 years by the time I apply. However because I was working in India for the last 2 years out of which 11 months will be without visiting the US, I was a little worried. On the US naturalization page, it does mention that this may not be an issue if the individual shows "strong ties" to the US. Some examples include:
1. Not terminating US employment and seeking employment abroad: I should satisfy this. I am working abroad for the same US employer
2. Maintaining tax status: I should satisfy this as well since I am concurrent with all my filings
3. Maintaining a US abode: I didn't have a physical house in the US but did have a US address. But I am assuming this wont work to be conservative
In addition to the above, I maintained things like my 401(K), all my bank accounts etc. in the US and also applied for a I-131 travel document for the period while I was out of the US.
Curious to hear from you folks if this has a good chance of working.
Thanks.
