  • Citizen by birth to USC father - Proving Father's residence issues

    Hi,

I am a UK citizen working in the USA on an E2 visa. I was informed whilst renewing my visa that I was infact a US citizen at birth via INA 301 (g) as my father is a USC.

My understanding is that to do this I must prove his residency in the United States for a period of 5 years - What is acceptable proof for this?

My father left the USA in 1987 so i believe tax records and family will have been destroyed or lost by now...

I look forward to any help you may have.

    Hard Copy Proof!!!

    Hi Sam Little,

Just check with your father for record of hard copy like citizenship form or other address proof if your father has any.

Else check with your father's mail that will proof the record for residence in the US.

    All the best.

    Regards
