Hey folks,
My wife has a naturalization interview in 2 weeks. In the list of documents recommended to take for hte interview, we see "drivers license or state issued ID". My wife does not have a drivers license - -she has a temporary paper learners permit, but no license (she has not passed her driving test). We have not applied for a state ID because she has never needed it -- her passport (from India) and her green card serve sufficiently wherever ID is required.
My interpretation of "state ID" means any government issued ID, for which her passport should suffice. If some documentation of her residence in the locality of the USCIS office is needed we can submit bank statements in her name with home address, or lease agreement with her name.
Will this be sufficient? Why do document checklists for naturlization always separately list "current and expired passports" AND "state issued ID".
Any experience with this, or guidance?
Thanks.
