I have applied for my green card and my wife is working on her h1b.
She would like to start working on EAD as soon as we get to that stage in the process.
We are Indian citizens who got married in New York. However, we did not register our marriage in the court of USA or India. It was a religious ceremony.
Now 6 months later, we will be getting a marriage license and certificate for the green card paperwork.
Is there a way we can keep our previous marriage date (religious ceremony date) instead of the new date that we will register our marriage in court?
Any insight on this topic will be appreciated!!
Thank you!
