Form I-90 and I-551

Hi,

I would like to ask regarding my case. I was granted with a "Returning Resident (SB-1)" immigrant visa and I don't know the process on acquiring my green card again since my original green card was forfeited due to a new Alien number that was given to me. As far as i know, I need to submit Form I-90 in order to get another green card and it takes a lot of time to get another card (4-5 months after filing) and I need a proof of residence in order to get a Social Security Number in order to apply for work.

Regarding this matter, can I apply for a temporary I-551 as I proceed with my scheduled biometrics in USCIS office? Or do i need to have a separate appointment for I-551 application?

When you say forfeited, did you abandon it?

The I-90 process taked appx. 9 months.
