Hello guys,
I'm about to celebrate my 5 years anniversary on my green card soon. I would like to apply for a US citizenship. However during my first year, 3 months after i took the green card i had to leave the US for 7 months and go back home because a family member was sick and hospitalized. After i came back i stayed continuously in the USA worked here and so until today. Do i have to wait another year as obviously during my first year i interrupt the principle for continues residence or i can still apply for a US citizenship ? Would you recommend me to submit my application personally or i would rather hire attorney to help me solve any problems that i might experience and avoiding filling the application incorrectly ?
