Naturalization interview done but no decision made for over 4 months!

Hi,

I had my N-400 interview in May, during the interview the officer said their system was down and they couldn't check certain things which they didn't want to elaborate. Anyhow, I did pass the history and English test and went over my file and all seemed to look fine with respect to application and requirements e.g. permanent residency for 5 years, living in the USCIS district for 3 months, physical presence, continuation etc.

Now after over 4 months or so, I am yet to receive any decision or and RFE. Does anyone have similar experience or have heard of similar situation. Any suggestions?

Background check

I have requested a review from USCIS as my case was long overdue. they responded after two weeks that my background check is still pending and they cannot do anything more. Any advice? Can I check with FBI regarding my background check to see the status or to expedite it if possible?
