  • Travel outside of US during N400 Naturalization. 2 week notice

    Hello!

    Thanks in advance!

    Background:
I'm a Chinese national in the process of N400. Biometrics has been taken, and I hope to interview in December/January.

As of now, there is opportunity with my current IT firm to work in China for up to one year (have to leave in 2 weeks). My wife went to China after comleting undergrad in May without applying for OPT, so she's stuck there. I'd like to stay there with her until she's able to come back.

    Questions:
What is the impact if I am to take the opportunity and work in China? I will continue to pay rent here in the states to establish residency if needed or helps. What is the risk? I'm getting mixed opinions from different people :/

Once i leave to work in China, does wife have a better chance at B1/B2? If that B1/B2 is declined, can I submit I-130 immediately for her while in China? and then upgrade to IR/CR1 once I'm naturalized?

    Thanks all!
