Best time to apply

Folks
I am in a quandry. My 5 years wait for naturalization will end in first week of Jan 2017. I need your help to figure out what is the best option here
1) I had been to India in the last few years spending 6 weeks there.
2) Now, I have tkts booked to India in June 2017 (3rd week).

A) Am I eligible to apply for naturalization by 1st week of next Jan 2017 or should I wait 6 more weeks to complete?
B) Is it advisable to apply before I go to India? What if I get an interview while I am in India for 4 weeks?

So many questions. Appreciate your replies.

Its unlikely you will get an interview so soon but even then why not leave after you get your citizenship?

Issue is, I have my brother's marriage during that time. As a followup, lets say, I apply now and get the biometrics in next 2 months, then can I schedule my interview/oath after I come back?
