N-400 Second Biometrics Appointment Received

Hi, I sent out the N-400 application in 08/07/2016. Received letter for biometrics appointment and had fingerprints done 09/08/2016. Received a letter on 12/09/2016 with another biometrics appontment. Why would they be sending me to a second biometrics appointment. Thanks for your help.

Just speculating here but perhaps it has to do with the IOE debacle (Elis cases), whereby some applicants didn't get thouroughly checked out

i filed in August 2016 and received 2nd biometric appointment in 3 months apart in indianapolis, IN i dont know whats going on

I created an account just to reply to this thread. I received a second biometrics appointment too (attended in August and now also December). I too have an IOE number but filed my N-400 in July 2016 through the Portland, Oregon office. I talked to a few different people at USCIS who said they didn't know why I needed to attend again. Unfortunately, the people doing the biometrics are just there for processing and hence, couldn't give me any information either. Rather frustrating considering I've seen some other people who have only waited 3 months for the entire process to be completed!
