  • Citizenship Application taking longer than expected

    Hello Everyone,

I filed for N-400 second week of august and completed Bio-metrics during the first week of September. The status on the case hasn't changed since than. I filed my application at the Phoenix office and my local office is Chicago. When I check the processing times for those offices it shows that as of September, they are processing applications as of March 31st. In that case it seems like they are running very behind in the process.

Anyone else experiencing this? My biggest dilemma is I want to visit India in January for 3-4 weeks but haven't been able to plan the trip due to the citizenship interview uncertainty. Would it be safe to assume that if I don't hear from USCIS till the 3rd week of December I wont be getting a interview till February?

    Thanks

    Hi
I can't speak of that particular office but it took me 7 months from the date of application to the actual interview date. INterview notice will be sent out 4 weeks prior to the actual interview date. you can always check the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov to download the notices before you receive in mail. hope you received instructions to set up the account.

    mine was san antonio office.
