  • N400 Processing times for Lewisville Texas (Super Slow, is that normal)

    Hello Everyone,

I sent over my N400 package to the Lewisville office and it was delivered on the 20th of December but I haven't heard anything back. Not an email or text message alert and I'm getting concerned. I know my package wasn't returned because its not in the mail but I guess I should have used a check not money order for the payment in order to tell if it was cashed or not.

I'm thinking should I call or am I being worried about nothing being that I filed close to the holidays and December might be a slow month in general. Please advise.

    Hi,

For some reason Lewisville is very slow. I applied in Oct 2016 and it took them 25 days to charge my credit card and send me email/text. I was also very worried. So, I would suggest just wait.

    Thanks

N-400- applied from Charlotte, N.C - Texas center assigned.

N400 applied in April 2016, Chq was successfully cashed in 10 days and I got a receipt.

Got the Bio-metrics letter, went in per the scheduled appointment in Charlotte, N.C on Sept 9,2016 - took all but less than 5 mins.

As I write this on Jan 3,2017 I still have not received any further communication from USCIS. Single petition with last name change due to divorce. as simple as it could be. No records, No priors, regular yrly visit to india for 25 days.

Called USCIS and finally got thru a human who had no answer about the delay/slow process because 'Oh we're backed up and the holidays besides, its within the normal time frame' . So my question to this person was - The USIC service center wait time doe not even have an N-400 listed on it.

This is really making me nervous. Apparently the local center cant help because they're already servicing May 2016 N-400s but the file has to be sent over from Texas to Charlotte, NC the local center where the intrvw shall be held. The problem is i can't move around from Charlotte for better opportunities while i sit and wait for the last lap of the immigration marathon to finish!

Anyone else facing the same thing? Is Texas generally that slow?

        Guys

Please be patient. I am in TX and it is 8 months from the time application received to oath ceremony. things will be slow after the fingerprints. you will get your biometrics done 1 - 2 months from the date of application.

You can call your bank and find out if the money order cashed. I did mine with BOA.
