  • New n-400 under Donald trump

    There is no new N-400.

If you have the nationality of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen, it's probably a good idea to not leave the US right now, as you may not be able to come back.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Ya, it is so sad to see what is going on, I thought the USA is a free country and has laws and constitution, based on what I see, the image is changed forever. I am with protecting the USA, but that need some logic. I hope to be American. It has become like a dream since yesterday.

It only affects entry. Naturalization doesn't involve entry.

              Yes it does involve naturalization

At the Citizenship and Immigration Service, staff members were told that the agency should stop work on any application filed by a person from any of the countries listed in the ban. Employees were told that applicants should be interviewed, but that their cases for citizenship, green cards or other immigration documents should be put on pause, pending further guidance.

I have to be honest.. after midget hands got elected, and started preaching his energy, immigration, and defense policies, I started having 2nd thoughts about whether or not i actually want to be an american anymore. but hell, I figure it'll probably make it easier for me to go to europe if this whole america thing falls through.

                  This CBP FAQ says:
Does the Executive Order apply to those currently being adjudicated for naturalization?

No. USCIS will continue to adjudicate N-400 applications for naturalization and administer the oath of citizenship consistent with prior practices.

I know he is embarrassing, but this is America. If you don't want to be a citizen, please do not apply. Becoming a citizen is a bi decision. Maybe move back to your country.

Obtaining citizenship gives immigrants the opportunity to vote on the issues that affect them

Obtaining citizenship protects permanent residents from deportation or exclusion as a result of future policy changes

I imagine that citizenship applications have gone through the roof since the most recent general election
