  • Can I sponsor my son?

    Hello,

I am 63 year's old. My mother sponsored me and I received my Green Card on 05/2015. I am currently living in Texas. I would like to sponsor my son (over 21yr) and his wife and kids (under 18). They live outside the US. I'm currently disabled.

As a green card holder, can I sponsor my son and his family and how long will that take ? Is it faster if they are here and then I apply?
If I wait to become a US Citizen, and then I sponsor my son and his family and how long will that take? Is it faster if they are here and then I apply?
Can I apply now under green card and then have it moved in a faster lane when I become a Citizen?
Lastly, how long do I have to wait to apply for citizenship ?

Ashraf, green card holders can not sponsor their married children

If you marry a US citizen you can apply for naturalization sooner, but if not you can apply for naturalization as early as May 2020 (see the presence requirements https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship...naturalization)

US citizens sponsoring their adult children are preference category F3. The estimated wait time ranges from 12 to 22.5 years (see the visa bulletin https://travel.state.gov/contenthttp...pril-2017.html)
