I have a student who was very active in professional boxing in another country for many years.
He has some memory loss and has difficulty with short term memory. How difficult is it to ask for an accommodation based on this? He said he wants to try to answer the questions, but the more complex ones may be too difficult for him.
He wants to be upfront and wants the immigration officer to be aware of this problem. Does he have to ask for the complete medical waiver, or can he try to answer the questions with out the waiver first?
The medical waiver paperwork is 6-7 pages long, and requires an M.D. to fill out and sign. That would also cost about $500.00 to get a doctor to do this. Is this necessary when he can answer some basic questions?
Can a family member accompany him during the interview?
Thank you!
