  • Please Help - Interview Scheduled end of next week

I have been scheduled citizenship interview end of next week. To my shock, i just came to know about the 3 month State rule.
    GC Date : Feb 2012

I stayed in MA from 2009 to Nov 2016 ( Did not go outside of US even for single day)
Moved to CA on Dec 2016 for job
    Filed N400 in Jan 2017

I came to know today when preparing for my interview that there is a 3 months State rule before filing for N400

What will be the outcome during Interview

    1. Will the officer deny the case?
    2. Is this mandatory requirement that one must stay 3 months before filing?
    3. Should i let the officer know when the interview starts

Please advice and i need your help. Thanks for reading

Officer will go over all the information on form one by one. While checking your address history it may come up. If you are asked, I think you should disclose that information. It's up to the office to take a call on that.

            dont worry

I came back into the us in september 2016 from africa and applied for citizenship in october 2016. I just had my test and my oath ceremony is scheduled. As long as you can prove you did not abandon your residence you're good

Thanks for the words. But I assume you applied from the same place or state when you left to Africa, correct? or you moved to different state?
