Most people I know received a letter or notification for their oath ceremony in 2 to 3 weeks after their interview. I am waiting for oath ceremony schedule in Chicago since August 24th. It has been 4 weeks now and so far no news from immigration office.

Does anyone has similar experience in Chicago? How long does it take to be scheduled for oath ceremony? I need to travel with US passport very soon.

My wife had her interview on Aug 24th, and I had mine on Aug 28th. My case status got updated as '' you are placed in line for oath ceremony ...... '' after a week and my wife's case status never got updated. Last month she visited uscis Chicago office, they said "it is updated in their system". We are also still waiting for oath. It might be based on application filed date. We filed them on Feb 2017. Our GC are going to expire soon, we were planning to visit India later this month. We need to change our plan. Did you get the letter for oath? thanks.

You can call the USCIS office about your case and just ask.

I do know that if you miss the swearing in ceremony, you are still NOT a citizen.
I would stay put until the ceremony is finished. It is important.
