  • 6 month after interview still waiting for oath ceremony

I had my interview at Atlanta center early May 2017, and today is Oct 8, 2017, still no sign of the ceremony scheduling letter. Did the info pass and the guy said in 3rd party background check and soon be soon in probably July. In mid-August, I use the uscis website to submit inquiries due to processing outside normal timeframe, and they said it takes another 120 days, and if no info after that call they customer service number. Not sure why it is such a long way. Any suggestions on what to do? Any explanations on the uscis processing so much delayed? Anyone has similar experiences. btw, no request for additional materials.

    interview: May 10, 2017
oath ceremony: still waiting (today is Oct 8, 2017)

    thanks!

    Oath Ceremony Notice

Hi there. When you went in for the interview were given a form to sign? The IO should put an x on the boxes pertaining to the result of the interview i.e. You past the English Test and answered 6 correct in the Civics and US government test. Something like that. And at the bottom if there is an x in the box where it says, " Congratulations I am recommending approval." Look for the form given to you by the IO after the interview. I just had my interview on Monday Oct. 23 and was given a congratulations letter by the IO , I passed the interview and answered six correct to the test.

      ATL field office

That is crazy to hear it is taking so long in ATL field office. I applied in May 2017 so am guessing wont have interview till next year ? How long after your status changed to - case in line for interview - did you actually get an interview ? I presumed oath taking ceremony will be within 1-2 months of interview day at most.
