If a person has not continuously been residing in the US or there are breaks in between, etc, is it possible for the applicant to apply for a waiver?

Thanks inadmissible for the info. From this thread it seems people like my father, though having a married child in the US who happens a US citizen, still cannot file for a waiver since he has not served in any of the qualifying positions described. I hope I am mistaken.

Note that an absence of less than 6 months does not break "continuous residence", and an absence of between 6 months and 1 year may or may not break "continuous residence", depending on the evidence you provide regarding your ties to the US during that time.
This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
