  • Online case status not updated for months after citizenship interview. Advice please?

    Hello everyone,

I hope you can help me as I'm very nervous about this whole process.
My case status was updated online on October 30,2017, saying that "we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization". I had my interview on December 8,2017 in Los Angeles field office. The officer told me that my case needed "further review". He did not explain why, just told me that
I needed to wait. Now, almost 2 months later, I still haven't heard anything and the online case status has not changed either. It still says "On October 30, 2017, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization". Shouldn't the online status have been changed/updated by now? Did anyone have the same experience? Any advice and help is appreciated.
    Thank you all in advance!

If you feel your case has fallen through the cracks, contact your Congressperson to intervene on your behalf

The process for naturalization is a long one for anyone applying 2 months really isn't that bad. however I do agree with inadmissible, if you feel it has fallen through the cracks, contact a congress person and try and have him/her assist you. It can't hurt to try. Best of Luck
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Thank you for your reply. What worries me is that the online status has not been updated so I can see at what stage my case is. I have even called the customer service but all they say is " You just have to wait, your case is in process", not very helpful.
