Hi
I filed my N400 in July.
I am resident of NYC, or, more correcty, I was until October 2017 when I flew back to my country for some months. At that time, I spent the last two weeks at a friend's house in Queens, so I moved my address there so that USCIS has the most current one. However, I now noticed that the Queens Field Office is SEVERELY backlogged (N400 current date is 16 december 2016!) so I was wondering:
1) Does changing address change the field office for the N400 application automatically? I was under the impression that one must ask that explicitly. If it does not it's better since NYC Field Office is less backlogged.
2) If indeed I am now handled by the Queens F.O., would moving somewhere else where there is less backlog make it suspicious to the officer that will interview me ? (Since I have been out of the country after I filed, they may think that I abandoned the USA).
