How can i apply for a work/employment authorization after marriage to a us citizen?

I got married to my girlfriend almost 2 months ago, after 6 months courtship.
I came into the US under the Foreign Media Representative, TYPE I Visa which already expires.
I have not yet applied for a Green card. I want to know if it is possible for me to apply for a work authorization so I could work for a few months, in order to support my wife and to be able to fund my Green Card application.
If this is possible, please tell me HOW I may go about the application for WORK/EMPLOYMENT Authorization.
I need you help and direction, PLEASE!

There is no provision for such a work authorization document. The only way to go would be to file I130 & I485 (GC) concurrently. Along with your I485 you get to apply for EAD for free. The alternative would be to extend your existing visa if possible.
