  • Wife in US based on Husband GC..Wife want to apply N400..Husband still GC...

I am trying to apply for citizenship for my wife..

Now, She got a Greencard based on my Greencard. I am still NOT US citizen but valid green card holder

looking at suggestions on how to apply on USCIS and online. I did not find any answers to below questions

    1. Can my wife apply for citizen ship?
    2. if not, do I need to apply for citizenship first?
    3. if yes, what are the documents needed to submit with N-400. as one of the document needed is Certificate of Citizenship?

    If someone can answers

    Thanks in advance

    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. The purpose of N400 is to apply for citizenship. So a required document for that cannot be a certificate of citizenship.

Each LPR's N400 application stands alone and does not depend on anything else. It does not matter on what basis the applicant got his/her GC. As long as they meet the requirements of applying for N400 in their category, they can go ahead and do so.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.
