I have a strange problem. I want you guys sugest me please. I have applied for citizenship once India stated it is issuing Dual citizenships. But later I realised that it is not exactly dual citizenships. My aim is to go back to India. Now I completed my fingerprints and its more than a year, hence USCIS send me another request for re finger prints. Now at this time I do not want citizenship as India is not giving real dual citizenships and my aim is to go back to India to spend time with my old parents until they need me. Is there any safe way to come out and not jeopardizing my future citizenship chances if I need. If I do not go for finger prints before October they will consider my application as abandoned. Please help me with some sugestions. Thank you very much in advance.

You have the option of either formally withdrawing your application by writing to them or just dont comply with the request for fingerprinting which will result in a denial. A denial does not preclude further applications so as long as you meet the residency and whatever other requirements at a later date, you can apply again. Be sure to safeguard the residency requiremnt of your Green Card

Hi Curiousone. Thank you very much for your input. My greencard is up for renewal. So I can just withdraw my citizenship application and file for my greencard renewal and do you think the fingerprinting for my citizenship holds good enough for my greencard renewal application as well?
Thank you.

Thank you.
They will request another fingerprinting for the Green Card

Very curious about this situation, especially after the reason given for not taking the US citizenship. Travel to India to take care of elderly parents is quite possible and one can travel freely to India without restrictions with as OCI status (the one closest to Dual citizenship). PIO is just as good except it is valid for only 15 years and one may have to register with Police locally if staying beyond 3 months in India. The two restrictions that are in place currently for OCI folks is that one cannot buy agricultural lands and cannot contest/vote in elections.
