I did not register with selective service

I came to the U.S. when I was 24 as a permanent resident but was unaware that I had to register with Selective Service. I am now 29 and trying to obtain my citizenship, I have already passed the civics test but I have been requested to obtain some kind of letter from the Selective Service, what are the chances my application will be approved? How do I go about to obtain the letter?

I am in the same boat as you were and trying to figure out how I can deal with this. I wish read the postings on these forums before I went to my interview. Any info you can share will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Thanks. So, I was here before 26 years in a H1-B visa. So, I think from their requirements I don't have to register. I don't have to do anything from now till my interview.

Non-immigrants (such as you on H1B) do not need to register, for as long as you never lost your H1B status (for more than 30 days) before your 26th birthday.
