In the detail instruction for the N-400 I found out the following:
“If you have taken any trip outside of the United States that lasted for 6 months or more since becoming a Permanent Resident, send evidence that you (and your family) continued to live, work, and/or keep ties to the United States, such as :
q An IRS tax return “transcript” or an IRS-certified tax return listing tax information for the last 5 years (or for the last 3 years if you are applying on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen)”
I did leave for more than 2 years (2 years and about 3 months) ..I had a re-entry permit for 2 years ..and the reason I was allowed to entry with no problem is because the expire date of that permit was even still has a good 4 months ...and that's because at the time when I apply for the 2 year permit I went out of the US for emergency ..3 or 4 months later, when I was out of US they sent me a letter stating they are missing my photos ...I sent my photos ..and another 3 to 4 months they sent me the re-entry permit to the US consulate with the issue date being from after the total of the above both period so I gain extra about 7 months ...
So..about the above mentioned transcript .. I really don’t have those transcript ..and I read online how to order them ..and if I order them now they going to take about 2 weeks ..no time ..I really need to finish this nightmare and send my application now …so, do I can just send a copy of my the tax return that I saved from my filing (some online some hard copy) for the last 5 years …and see if they going to ask for the transcript from me in the interview letter ..
Would that be a smart choice …or they going to return my application after 3 months for insufficient document … I would doubt that thought
Any answer/experience/idea ..will be very appreciate it
Thanks you very much in advance for the great help.
