passport expires, but visa is still going to be valid

I am a US citizen from India. My passport expires in one year and my visa to India expires in two years.
I would like to know, if I could transfer my visa status in the new passport, I am going to renew.
What do I need to do and the fees involved and the application form I need to use.

You can either transfer old visa into new visa at $25 fee. /indian-passport-services-in-usa/

Or just carry both passports.

always note that it's the passport that expires, the visas in the passport expire on their own terms per visa.

usually they put a stamp on the passport that the visas therein are valid
