  • Question on Nebraska Service center

    Hello all,

I just filed my N-400 with the Nebraska Service Center. Last week, they cashed my check and sent in my acknowledgement. Does anyone know how long it takes before I am called for finger-printing ?

Incidentally, why do they need my fingerprints again ? They did all that when processing my I-485 (adjustment of status) several years ago. Do finger prints really change that much in three years ?

Also - does anyone know the usual processing time for N-400 with the Nebraska Service Center ? I am very interested in a career with the state department and there is an exam that I need to take in the third week of April. Is there any chance they will approve my application before this date ? The exam is offered only once a year and you have to be a citizen before you can sit for it.

    Thank you for your time.

Timings keep changing all the time. Look at the links from the home page, http://www.immihelp.com

USCIS needs finger prints again and again for every immigration benefit!!! Finger prints don't change and that is exactly the meaning of collecting the finger prints in the first place to catch bad people by matching them against the database. But then this is USCIS. What can you say?
