Application filing Question-Please clarify

I and my wife are applying for citizen in the first week of Feb 07.
Do we need to send the two application forms in the different covers are in the same cover?
And regarding checks, do we need to send two different checks (one for citizen ship and one for figure prints) or one check for both.
Please clarify

You can send both the application forms in one envelope. Send one check that includes both the fees.

It is better to attach one check for each application. I basically put my application,docs with a check in one envelope and my wife's application,docs and check in another envelope and then put both envelope in a bigger envelope and mailed it.
