  • N-400 Signature Question.

Sorry Could not help asking this question again.
I checked with several people who recently applied to Citizenship (form N-400) they all indicated they just signed normally as they would anywhere.

So I actually signed with my normal signature on Question 11. Would this be a problem ?

Anyone on this forum who signed normally and got the fingerprints or Interview dates ?

No, it won't be a problem. I got my citizenship.

      OK thanks.

OK thanks. So it would not matter if you sign your regular signature or write your first and last name in cursive wirting as someone indicated (Frankly to me it is not a signture if one does first and last name).

      Cool.

On the Certificate of Naturalization you will have to sign with your first, last (and middle name) in cursive writing. DO NOT SIGN USING YOUR DAY TO DAY SIGNATURE.

Dude, don't sweat it! Think about it this way, without the internet and "immihelp" would you even be asking this question about your signature? Afterall, the n-400 only asks you to sign. It doesn't say anything about cursive signatures and signing your full name, etc. Right?

Okay now to the serious part: I finished my interview 2 1/2 weeks ago and passed. On part 11, simply sign like you normally do (see my 1st. sarcastic paragraph). On parts 12 & 13 (if you pass your interview) you will be asked to sign in front of the DAO/IO during your interview. Now, here's the interesting part: Signatures on 12 and 13 need to be your full name (first, middle, last) in CURSIVE. The IO will even tell you that, so don't worry - be happy
