N-400 Application Part 1 (c) "Have you ever used other names"

Does this section apply to a woman who took her husband’s last name after marriage? Does she need to enter her madden last name in this section, provided all documents including permanent resident card have the one after marriage. Experienced users please reply. Appreciate that.

I have used it on my wife's application even though her passport and other documents after coming to the US has my last name (married name). She has her interview on 14th and incase they ask she can mention that it was her maiden name. Will let you know after the interview.

I was reading the N400 instructions and it says "Other names you have used - If you have used any other names in your life, write them in this section."

Its asking in your lifetime and not after u came to the US
