Citizenship Question

Hello,

I need some help regarding my Citizenship Application. I got my GC in Jan'02.
I was here in US continuously for 26months. Then I left for Business work for 9 months(as I don't know about this Continuous residence rule), I came back after that i took few trips but all of them are less than 6 months. So according to this, can I apply for my Citizenship As I already completed my 5 yrs. Or shd I have to wait?/

Although the desirable stay out of the country is less than 6 months, because you have still not passed the 1 year mark, you are still eligible. The problem is you will have the burden to prove your domicile was the USA for all that time with papers from IRS stating that you have paid your taxes continuosly and also the USCIS may ask for other forms of proof. Hope this helps.
