  • Employment length after GC

I received my PR status in 2001 and continued to work with the sponsring employer for 3 months post PR. After 3 months I left the company to pursue further studies.

    1) Does someone else have/know of a similar situation, if yes, what were the questions that were posed regarding this issue during citizenship interview?

    2) What type of documents from the GC sponsoring employer can be helpful in addressing the questions that might be posed?

    Thanks in advance,
    GCEB2

There is a difference of leaving the company yourself or the company letting you go or lowering your pay forcing you to leave. If possible try to get a statement from the company that you pretty much was let go or they supported your further studies with the anticipation that you would come back and work for them. Be very careful, if USCIS determines you got your green card with false pretenses, they could start your REMOVAL proceedings!
