My question is regarding the date you send the application for citizenship. We sent ours in at the beginning of July, July 5. They stamped it on July 9th but sent it back because the check was for the wrong amount (Sent too much-long story). They crossed out the stamp when they sent it back . We didn't get it back until July 26th. We Fedex it the next day so it got there July 27th. We want to avoid them getting the papers July 30th or later since the new fees go into effect on July 30th. It is the post date that counts or the date they stamp it on location? I know they got it on July 27th but how do I know if they will stamp it that day or later and send the application back along so we have to pay the new hefty increase?
