It's is very easy to acquire Indian citizenship anytime you want. Unfortunately, I don't know the process, but you will need to contact the Home Ministry's office in Delhi.

There were web links posted here for Home Ministry of India, but have been removed by this forum. If you give me your e-mail id possibly through a private message, I can give you the web site which has details.


Indian citizenship will be good for the two main reasons - one will be the ability to vote and the other to purchase and use agricultural land.

Else, you're better off having an US citizenship and live in India for the rest of your life.

You would get the benefits of both.

I didn't apply yet. Will do it in March last week. Did you apply? Whats your status?

Looks like now-a-days its taking 1.5 months for fingerprinting...
