I have sent my citizenship application on the 27th July through priority mail, was recieved by the USCIS on the 30th July, till now they have not cashed the check. My application was sent to Mesquite, TX. Has anyone applied during this time/ did they hear from USCIS?

Applied to Vermont
I sent my application on the 6th of August to Vermont and my check also hasn't been cashed yet.
I am worried that we may have gotten stuck behind a longer queue of applications rushed in before the fee increase of July 30th.
Does anybody have any insight to how much delay has been added to the process as a result of the increased no of application resulting from the fee increase??
I read the last posting from Knowledgeable (great response BTW!!) saying that they are probably processing the applications faster in anticipation of more votes during election and I hope that it is still true !!
