  • N400: Forgot to mention 2 day travel to Canada

I have already received the finger printing notice. In my N400 application, I forgot to mention a visit to Niagara Falls in 2002 for 2 nights. What should I do? Send an amendment? How?

    Thanks for help in advance.

    Niagara, Canada.

I assume you're talking about Niagara, Canada.

That's okay, just keep this information with you and if possible any document you might have to support it.

Since you're a permanent resident, unless you've shopped in Canada or paid for your hotel stay in that country, you may not have any document.

If you do, just keep it read with you.

They won't bother about the two day stay that you've missed mentioning. They already know about it as they scan the GC on your way back.

Shouldn't be an issue for you.

    Don't worry too much.

      Knowledgeable,

      Thanks for your reply.

Yes it was a trip to Niagara, Canada. I did stay in a hotel and paid by credit card. I do not have any records with me, unless I ask my credit card company.

Will it not go against me as a lie, if I do not mention it?

Thanks a lot for a great service you are doing on this site.

        Don't worry

Don't worry, it's not considered a lie as you're not deliberately withholding any strong incident against yourself like a drunken driving arrest etc.

A couple of days to Niagara won't hurt you at all. USCIS understands this very well, especially since a lot of Indians do visit this region quite often.

You're sure not to require it, but try to go to your credit card company's website and see if you can pull that record or check your previous e-mails to see if you have the booking confirmation.

I strongly advice, in general, to scan and retain all important documents. They're easy to search and are available when you need them. Lastly, you can make copies easily, electronic backups as well as paper copies.

        Good luck.
