Maybe someone here was in a similar position before and can share some advice:
I became a US citizen earlier this year and now have a US passport. I still have my German passport as well, despite the fact that I was told to revoke my German citizenship during the oath ceremony yadda yadda yadda I know about that. Question is, I'm travelling to Germany in November and was wondering which passport I need to use for travelling.
Leaving the US I show the US passport
Entering Germany (do I show German passport without creating confusion in case they send passenger lists to Germany prior to arrival?)
Leaving Germany show US passport
Entering US show US passport (will the immigration officer ask why there's no stamp in the US passport?)
I'm aware that Germany doesn't tolerate dual citizenship (except if you filed some paperwork before becoming a US citizen which of course I didn't do) and that the US looks the other way in such cases. Just trying to get some opinions since I can't ring up the German embassy and tell them about my dilemma. thanks any comments appreciated. Donelly.
