Fingerprinting Question

Hi,
I am planning to submit my N400 application around the middle of October 2007. I have a couple of fingerprinting related questions:-
1) I am planning to take a vacation sometime in Dec and Jan. If I do not receive the fingerprinting appointment letter in the mail by then, is it possible to check online for this information while I am on vacation (since I will not be able to check if they sent any appointment letter in the mail when I am away).
2) If my appointment date happens to be during the time when I am away on vacation can I ask for it to be re-scheduled?
Will that cause a significant delay in my application process?

1.- No.
2.- Yes (if you have someone taking care of your mail) and it will probably delay the applcation a good bit.
