  • Its taking forever !!!

It's been 4 weeks that the processing date for N400 applications is stuck at 7/25/2007 for VSC.

Is there anybody out there who applied after 7/25/2007 and who has received any Notice or whose check has cleared ??

I'm wondering that if they are taking this long to process the fee and send out the Notice, how long will they take to schedule interviews??

      We are also waiting

Our application arrived at the Vermont center on the 27th of July, 2007. Check cleared in August but no receipt yet....I agree that they are stuck there forever. I will let you know when I get a receipt.
Also my husband is taking the neutralization class and the lady who teaches it said we will be lucky if we get the interview by Nov 2008 which means we will be taking the new test...
They were slammed with applications due to the fee increases on July 30th and are currently really behind. So much for "the new fee increase will ensure faster processing times...."

            Vermont Process Center

My Receipt date is 08 MARCH 07. I was fingerprinted in mid-April in Alexandria, VA without any problem. The rep. who did the prints told me I would hear something in 3 1/2 to 6 months. In a few weeks nearly 8 months will have passed and so far nothing. Their web site says they are processing cases from MARCH of this year. However, the site has not been updated since October 15th, 2007. Also, I called in October to the cust. svc number and the lady told me they were working December 22, 2006 cases. When I called back a few days ago they told me now they are working December 23, 2006 cases. How can they possibly process just 1 day's worth of cases in a month???? How are other cases processed so fast in like 4 or 5 months?

            Need HELP!!! Arthur

              My check is finally cleared

Hi my check finally cleared on 11/08/2007. I had sent in the application on 08/06/2007. I haven't received the receipt notice yet though.

I tried looking at the receipt number at the back of the check but the first character after the letters ESC is not readable. The remaining 9 digits are clear. I called the customer service and a lady told me that it is an *. Can someone please confirm that the first character after the letters can be an asterisk ??

              Thanks.

I sent in my application on August 2nd, and finally received the Notice Letter, dated Nov 15, 2007.
Yes the first digit after the 'LIN' is an asterisk, followed by (2) zeros..: LIN*001234567. Hope this helps!

The notice letter says " You will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office'..does this mean that I do not have to get fingerprinted..? or does 'interview' also mean 'fingerprint'..any thoughts?

                Thanks!

Your receipt # must be 13-characters/digit long. First three characters represent your service center (Vermont service center and Texas service centers uses two, i.e., EAC, ESC and SSC, SRC, respectively) followed by asterisk (*), if any and 9-10 digit numbers.
Asterisk indicates your application lacking any evidence/ document (which will also evident from notice of action, which is I-797C not simply I-797). You may or may not get letter of RFE (request for evidence) due to asterisk because initially your application not thoroughly scrutinize completely.
