I had my interview for naturalization and they said I was highly recommended for citizenship. But, i need to leave the country and I don't know if i can or if I should wait until i get the invitation to do the oath. Can i leave as resident? I still have a valid Alien card

You are not citizen till OATH. You are still permanent resident of US and you can travel as before but it is not good idea to leave the country in the middle of process unless until it is urgent. Normally, after passing interview they will inform you for oath ceremony within a month.

There is no problem in going overseas unless you are on the edge of the number of US stay dates. I too had my interview recently and have planned to go overseas and requested a delayed Oath. The IO said not to worry and if I did receive an earlier oath, to just send it back to the local office with a note for rescheduling.

It varies based on the local office. The oath ceremonies for my local office are on-line. Additionally when I went for my interview, the officer showed me the chart on the wall which is used for scheduling oath ceremony. In my office they send it around 2 weeks prior to the Oath ceremony date.
